Do You Like To Write?

Like to write? Love any of the shows on the HBO and/or Showtime Networks? Great! There is a new challenge, called hboshowtime_las, where you write a fanfic of at least 100 words every two weeks based on a different prompt. Then they get voted on and the person with the least votes is out that week and the person with the most is safe next week. Till you have one author standing who wins! What do you win? A snazzy graphic and a $10 GC to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You don't even need to be a GREAT writer!

... who will come out on top?

I don't remember hearing about this, but then we do all disperse a lot between seasons so if you haven't come across this news yet: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/10/23/this-just-in-hbo-renews-in-treatment/

I'm friends with a TV/Film journalist in the UK called William Gallagher. Lovely man. It was he who first introduced me to In Treatment.

William makes a podcast every week called "UK DVD Review" and this month is running a competition to discover what people's favourite DVD release of 2009 was. This includes the American release of Season One of In Treatment.

You may be interested to hear that SKY ARTS has bought "In Treatment" and will be showing one episode every weeknight at 10pm in October.

Here's a news article for you: GUARDIAN NEWSPAPER

Can't wait! Now all I hope is that maybe Gabriel Byrne might come and do a little publicity here in the UK.

I've been keeping an eye on reactions in various parts of the internet to the end of the second season of In Treatment and, I have to tell you, I've not seen one single review or mention that was anything less than GLOWING. That's not to say there aren't any dissenting voices out there, I just haven't heard any of them yet...

This article is fairly typical:

More In Treatment Needed

Let’s get it out of the way fast. HBO must bring back the weekly acting and screenwriting master classes, also known as In Treatment, for a 3rd season.

I guess my only beef with this article is the label that my ... er, 'interest' in Gabriel Byrne has earned me - apparently that now classifies me as 'middle aged'. *sigh*

I live in the United Kingdom, and am one of only two people I know over here who have ever even HEARD of "In Treatment."

So, imagine how delighted I was to see that the first five episodes of Season One have been selected to be shown at the Edinburgh International Film Festival!

Hopefully this will mean that the show is snapped up by a television company over here.

So now that we're really into this season, which character is your favorite?

I dunno...I'm not feeling any of the characters. I'm hoping it will improve.
